Welcome to WDS of Omaha
The Widowed, Divorced and Separated of Omaha is a peer-to-peer Christian Ministry sponsored by the Archdiocese of Omaha and directed to widowed, divorced and separated persons.
We offer a safe environment where men and women and their families can find support in the following areas:
spiritual, educational, friendship and social.
In addition to monthly general meetings, WDS of Omaha provides social activities that offer friendship and recreation to men and women adjusting to the single lifestyle.
WDS monthly activities include:
- Unstructured fun nights featuring board games, cards and videos
- Celebration of the Eucharist. We meet to attend mass as a group. Mass is followed by either a potluck dinner or dining as a group at a nearby restaurant.
- Dinner outings at a predetermined restaurant
Many other activities are scheduled throughout the year depending on the season. These activities are published in the monthly newsletter.
In addition to these activities the Omaha WDS members maintain a faithful prayer line for the intentions of its members and offer an annual day of spiritual renewal.
Inclement Weather PolicyPlease note that for safety's sake, WDS events will be cancelled if there is inclement weather.
When the Omaha Public Schools have cancelled school for the day due to inclement weather, WDS events for that evening will also be cancelled.
The ONLY exception to this notice is WDS activities planned for Saturday, Sunday or during school breaks. Cancellation during that time will be posted on the WDS Calendar of Events. Or call the event Coordinator or call (402) 551-9003 ext. 1318 and listen to the recorded message.

"WDS is my new extended family, without them I would not have met so many new friends, some very close. This group has opened up opportunities for me to be part of the whole world rather than my own small, lonely and closed in world."
